Experience the city individually and personally with a local city guide.

First, I’ll explain what a free city tour with me through Stuttgart is all about and what I mean by individual and personal. Then I’ll show you how you can experience the city from the perspective of an insider who has lived here for a long time. At the end, you will have the opportunity to make an appointment for a free city tour in Stuttgart.

What can you expect from the free city tour?

Are you in Stuttgart for the weekend, passing through, new to the city or living in the Stuttgart region? Do you want to get to know the city better?
Whatever your motivation, I can help you:
I offer personal guided tours to show you Stuttgart from an insider’s perspective.

The first step – request an appointment

There are no fixed dates for the free individual city tours. However, you can let me know when you are in town and I will see if I have time for you. You can find the contact form and e-mail address below.

Let me show you Stuttgart personally

An individual city tour focuses on your interests and wishes.

  • Would you like to learn about the history of the city and be shown places of historical significance?
  • Or be guided to the favorite places of a local?
  • Are you interested in architecture, culture or nature?
  • Should we stay in the city center or explore the neighborhoods, parks or forests?
  • Do you want to walk a lot or will we take the bus or streetcar?
  • Do you have any general questions about life in Stuttgart?

These and other questions can help me in the run-up to a free city tour of Stuttgart. But I can also answer your questions during the tour.

How does an individual city tour work?

Once we have found a suitable date, the next step is to discuss the meeting point and the focus of the tour.
So far, every tour has been different, with different places and content.

The way of getting around can also be adapted according to preference, distance and physical condition.

And finally, the weather and time available also play a role.

All in all, my aim is to show you the interesting, beautiful, remarkable but also the questionable sides of the city.

If everything goes well, I hope you will conclude that Stuttgart is an interesting city with lots of places worth seeing.

Really free?

Free city tour in Stuttgart – yes – the tour costs you nothing. But – at the end I ask you to voluntarily donate what our tour was worth to you to a good cause. That way, others will also benefit.
Projects that I recommend for donations on this occasion: Donation projects

What’s important to me is that you have a choice – it really is free! But I would be delighted if, in addition to the benefits for you, other projects also benefit from this tour.

How did the idea of offering free city tours in Stuttgart under the motto “Stutt(gart)Bummel” come about?

How did the idea of offering free city tours in Stuttgart under the motto “Stutt(gart)Bummel” come about?
Well, I grew up here and have become increasingly fond of the city and the region. I like living here and feel at home. That qualifies me as a native of Stuttgart.
I’ve experienced a lot of hospitality in other cities and countries on my travels. There was the nice lady from Chicago Greeters who gave us a personal, free tour of this fascinating city.
I have since found out that there are 140 cities worldwide where free city tours are offered through the International Greeter Association. The Greeter’s motto is: “Come as a guest – leave as a friend!
And then I discovered the Stuttgart Greeters. I now do free, individual and personal city tours in Stuttgart with them.

As I enjoy passing on my insider knowledge, I set up the website “StuttBummel.de” and offer individual city tours under the motto “Experience Stuttgart on a stroll”.
